Grief is a natural emotional response, typically associated with the death of a loved one but also experienced in response to other significant losses, such as perinatal loss, family estrangement, the end of a friendship or romantic partnership, loss of a job, or changes in health. It encompasses a wide range of emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations that vary from person to person.
